Levesque indicated that he just got off the phone with his partners from Tourism Vancouver in the social media post. Recent years have seen cities have to bid to attract large scale WWE events.
The Survivor Series: WarGames show often features a main event with teams of four or five wrestlers competing inside two rings placed side-by-side locked inside a steel cage. The Survivor Series show is WWE's second longest-running PLE and has occurred annually since 1987. Montreal (1997) and Toronto (2016) have both hosted the event in the past.

This marks the first WWE PLE or pay-per-view show to broadcast out of Vancouver since In Your House: Rock Bottom, which occurred when Rogers Arena was formerly called GM Place on Dec. 13, 1998.
WWE also hosted the In Your House: International Incident show at GM Place on July 21, 1996. World Championship Wrestling did host the New Blood Rising PPV at the Pacific Coliseum on Aug. 13, 2000.
Rogers Arena hosted WWE's Friday Night Smackdown show on Jan. 1, 2024 and it drew a sell-out crowd.
