Five people have been arrested following the discovery of stolen firearms and illicit drugs at a Maple Ridge property.
On Wednesday, Dec. 11, the Ridge Meadows RCMP Street Enforcement Unit, (SEU), and the Integrated Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 22300 block of St. Anne Avenue.
During the search of the house police found six firearms, jewellery, personal documents, contraband cigarettes and around half a kilogram of what police are only describing as illicit drugs.
The search warrant is related to a break and enter at another Maple Ridge property on Thursday, Nov. 28, where the SEU attended, as well as Integrated Forensic Identification Services.
Their combined efforts resulted in the quick identification of the alleged suspects in that incident.
RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
"This is a great example of how immediate action has achieved positive results, in the recovery of a substantial amount of stolen property," Sgt. Trevor Hanson with the SEU.
"It is always a win, when our efforts allow us to return property to it鈥檚 rightful owner," he added, noting no further information available at this time.
