ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Fire Service responded to a teenager who was struck by a vehicle Monday morning (Dec. 16) near Earl Marriott Secondary in South ÐÔÊӽ紫ý.

A 17-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle outside Earl Marriott Secondary Monday morning (Dec. 16).

ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Fire Service crews were called to a pedestrian struck at Kent Street and 16 Avenue — across from EMS — at around 8:30 a.m. Monday, ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Fire Service assistant chief Greg McRbbie confirmed.

"When crews arrived, it was a 17-year-old female who had been struck by a vehicle and was reporting neck and back pain," he said.

"(Firefighters) did a basic assessment of her, supported her and C-spine... and basically cared for her until BC Ambulance arrived to transport her to hospital."

He couldn't say which hospital, or if the driver remained on scene, but added it was likely they did, as there were no notes to indicate otherwise.
