Two people have been released from hospital after being treated for injuries after a shooting in Newton Monday night.
性视界传媒 Police Service is still investigating the shooting, which happened shortly before 6 p.m. Monday (Dec. 16). SPS frontline officers responded to a call from a woman saying that she and her husband had been shot while outside in the 12600-block 67B Ave., a release said, adding a young child was in a car nearby, unharmed.
Two suspects, described as adult South Asian men, were last seen driving away in a dark-coloured sedan.
"This appears, at this early stage of the investigation, to be a targeted shooting, although investigators are still working on establishing a motive," SPS Staff Sgt. and senior media relations officer Lindsey Houghton said in an emailed update."
"There does not appear to be any links between this shooting and the other shooting in Newton that took place early on December 15."
