Crimson Crescendo, the locally based post-modern classical trio, will return to Peninsula Productions' black box theatre in Centennial Park on Dec. 1.
Part of the trio's Gossamer Glow series, the Christmas-themed concert has already sold out the 7 p.m. show, but some tickets remain for the noon performance.
The trio, Monica Niedzelko (violin), Bruce Petherick (keyboard) and Peter Koyander (double bass), will be playing a very personal selection of melodies that evoke Christmas for the musicians.
In the first concert of the season, the highly capable trio (also members of the White Rock City Orchestra) provided ample proof they can span all idioms of music, from the baroque and romantic eras, to modern classical compositions (some of them their own originals) to jazz.
In arrangements created for and by the trio members themselves, Crimson Crescendo is carving its own tradition of music guaranteed to appeal to music lovers of all ages and persuasions.
Future Gossamer Glow concerts are scheduled for March 2, and May 24.
