White Rock-based Praxis Photography Collective will be exploring the concept of community as expressed through the lenses of local photographers in the August exhibit at Landmark Pop-Uptown Gallery, Central Plaza.

The show InsideOut will take over the city-sponsored arts display space from Aug. 2 to 28, featuring work by Praxis members Linda Bickerton Ross, Barbara Cooper, Gary Kennedy, George Omorean and Jan Lyle.

Opening reception for the exhibit will be Friday, Aug. 2, from 6 to 9 p.m.

In a special presentation on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m., archives manager Hugh Ellenwood (of White Rock Museum and Archives) will trace how city and community history has been preserved through the work of local photographers since the pioneering days.

Hours for the new exhibit will be Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the gallery (15140 North Bluff Rd.).
