The Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society recently donated $750,000 towards the purchase of critical equipment across multiple departments at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care.
鈥淲e are honoured to collaborate with the Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society,鈥 Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation executive director Lisa Hoglund said in a press release.
鈥淭his remarkable gift will directly impact patient outcomes by providing critical equipment for Mountain View Manor, Irene Thomas Hospice, cardiology, surgical services and the emergency department. We value our important partnership with the auxiliary as we collectively strive to strengthen healthcare in our community.鈥
The auxiliary has been providing Delta Hospital with volunteer services, patient care and comfort, and funds raised through their entrepreneurial efforts since 1969.
As one of B.C.鈥檚 most successful hospital auxiliaries, the Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society has over 300 dedicated volunteers who donate nearly 60,000 hours each year, and through their successful businesses 鈥 Dogwood Gift Shop, Courtyard Caf茅, Delta Auxiliary Thrift Store, and Lifeline 鈥 the organization has cumulatively raised over $17 million towards health care initiatives at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care.
Society president Jim Short expressed gratitude for all of the auxiliary's devoted volunteers throughout the years.
鈥淭he present auxiliary received the torch from those who went before us. The mission, to support patient care and comfort at Delta Hospital Campus of Care, was born with our founding members," Short said in a press release.
"It鈥檚 a privilege and joy to collectively make this large donation towards critical equipment needs that will enhance patient care. The hearts of our volunteers are directed towards this campus, and we hold the torch to pass onto future generations whom we need to continue our pursuit.鈥
Cathy Wiebe, executive director of Delta and White Rock/South 性视界传媒 Health Services and both Delta and Peace Arch hospitals, recognized the impact of the auxiliary's contributions.

In January, the auxiliary made a record $3-million donation in support of the foundation's $18.25-million 鈥淐oming Home鈥 capitol campaign to , expanding capacity at the site from 92 to 200 beds. Construction is expected to begin in 2025 and be completed in 2027.
The donation is the largest the auxiliary has ever made, contributing to the largest fundraising effort in Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation's 35-year history.
